February 10, 2012 - My Office-Logic is not performing like normal, what should I try first?

Product(s): Office-Logic Groupware, Office-Logic Groupware Client Server Edition,

Office-Logic I-Net, Office-Logic Remote

First and foremost, it is always a good idea to make sure that you are running the latest version of Office-Logic to see if that corrects the issue.  If you are on a current Updates, Support & Enhancement (USE) Agreement, then verify the version that you are currently running by selecting Help on the top right Menu Bar, and clicking on the About Office-Logic option.  Then visit our website to see what the latest available version is.  If your version is older than what we have available, then download and install the update.  If you do not have a current USE Agreement, or your version is not in the same version class as the update from our website, then contact our Sales department.  As an example, a version class would be any version within v9.x.  If you are currently running v8.12, and our current available version on our website is v9.25, then you will need to contact our Sales department for new activation codes.

Sometimes, depending on the resources that are available on the workstation, having too many Office-Logic windows open at the same time could cause performance issues.   Office-Logic does not limit the number of modules or windows that a user has open at any given time.  A user can have several database/contact windows open, along with open e-mail windows, create e-mail windows, calendar windows, phone message center windows, etc.

A quick way to see exactly what windows are open in Office-Logic is to click on the Window option located on the top Menu Bar.  The bottom section of that display will show all the Office-Logic windows that are open.  You can manually click on each window and close them individually if they are not immediately necessary, or you can use the Window\Close All option to close all the Office-Logic windows at once.

The Windows option also allows users to organize their Office-Logic windows by using the Tile Vertically, Tile Horizontally, or the Cascade option.  The Cascade option can be very helpful if one of your Office-Logic windows has every been accidentally moved off screen.

If running the latest version of Office-Logic and closing all unnecessary windows does not correct the problem, then contact our Support department.
